On our way to Ko Samui

Friday, February 5th – 7:00 A.M. (Ko Samui)

I’m sitting on the deck outside our room as I write this. It’s warm already but there’s a nice breeze. We got up early as we’ve been going to bed early every night and falling quickly to sleep. We are so tired by the end of our days. This morning, our first morning on the ship, Bill went downstairs and brought back coffee and donuts for us to enjoy on the deck as we watch the sun come up. I hope that continues. What a wonderful way to start the day. We will dock on Ko Samui (an island in Thailand) around noon time today. Rather than taking one of the cruise’s tours, Bill has planned renting a motorbike and riding around the island. That sounds like fun. Coconuts are an important part of the local economy so we’ll see what that brings. It will be hot and humid though – 86 degrees.

I rested all of yesterday. Bill didn’t. He was up early and out walking the area near our hotel. He’s interested in seeing everything. We left for the ship about 11:00 and were surprised that it was a 2 hour trip by cab. Our room is just wonderful. We have a couch, two chairs and a table and a lovely balcony with a table, chairs and lounges. We have decided that this will be our last long distance cruise so it’s nice that we’re ending on such a high note.
